Alexandria University contributes to the GIS Day 2020
On 16 December 2020 Bibliotheca Alexandria and Esri Northeast Africa organized the GIS Day 2020, bringing together stakeholders, professionals, researchers, teachers and students active in and/or interested in spatial science and geographic data. Several team members of Alexandria University, one of the partners of the SEED4NA project, contributed to the event.
Prof. Hany Ayad participated in a panel disscussion with other academics and professionals on ‘The GIS Evolution and future trends of Spatial Data Infrastructure’. In this discussion, professory Ayad introduced the SEED4NA project and how it aims to contribute to the development and implementation of SDIs.
Dr. Dina Saadallah gave a presenation on ‘Spatial Data Infrastructure and Earth Observation Education & Training for North Africa,’ introducing the SEED4NA project and presenting it aims, objectives, and the role of academic sector in the development of the SDI. During the event, participants were also invited to participate in the SEED4NA stakeholder requirements survey.
