On Thursday 11 March 2021 Mejdi Kaddour (University of Oran 1) gave a presentation on the status of EO/GI in Algeria during the monthly SEEDNA stakeholder engagement meetings

Monitoring meeting with the NEO Morocco
On Friday 12 March 2021 a project monitoring meeting took place with the National Erasmus+ Office Morocco at the premises of the Ibn Zohr University in Agadir. During this meeting, Adnane Labbaci (Ibn Zohr University) first provided an overview of the project and its current status of implementation.

Alexandria University contributes to the GIS Day 2020
On 16 December 2020 Bibliotheca Alexandria and Esri Northeast Africa organized the GIS Day 2020, bringing together stakeholders, professionals, researchers, teachers and students active in and/or interested in spatial science and geographic data. Several team members of Alexandria University, one of the partners of the SEED4NA project, contributed to the event.

SEED4NA @ the Week of GI-Education for the Future
The SEED4NA project contributed to the organization of the Week of GI-Education for the Future. The Week of GI-Education was held from Monday 25 January to Thursday 28 January, and consisted of four sessions focusing on specific aspects of innovative GI-education.

Strong earthquakes in Croatia
Central Croatia has been hit with two strong earthquakes on December 28th (5.3 on Richter scale) and on December 29th (6.3 on Richter scale) creating massive destruction in towns of Petrinja, Sisak and Glina, and even some damage in 50 km distant Zagreb. The second earthquake shaking was registered in surrounding countries and even 1.000 km distant towns in central Italy.

SEED4NA Stakeholder Survey
The SEED4NA project (www.seed4na.eu) aims to improve the quality of higher education in North Africa in the fields of Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) and Earth Observation (EO), and enhance the relevance of SDI/EO education for the labour market and society.
In order to gain insight in and better understand the skills needs and requirements of professionals and stakeholders in North Africa, SEEDNA has launched a Stakeholder Survey on necessary competences related to SDI and EO.

Monitoring meeting with the Erasmus+ office of Tunisia
On 11 November 2020, the Tunisian partners of the project and the project coordinator participated in a project monitoring meeting organized by the Tunisian Erasmus+ Office.

SEED4NA Kick-off meeting
From 18 to 20 February 2020 the SEED4NA kick-off meeting took place in Leuven. This 3-day meeting, hosted by the KU Leuven University at the Collegium Veteranorum, consisted of several presentations and discussions on the various activities of the SEED4NA project and on the interests and contributions of each of the project partners.
